I’ve always heard about difficult losses at casinos but have never been there to experience one. I’m sure it’s hard to lose your whole life savings in one fell swoop, but that’s just the name of the game. Unfortunately, one player wasn’t too happy with that outcome when playing at a World Series of Poker event in Cherokee, North Carolina. To really express his anger, he decided to flip over the table he was playing at and bump into others nearby.
In the video above, a disgruntled player can be seen charging towards the poker table nearest the camera and knocking it over, sending the cards and chips flying in the air. In that same moment, he is also tackled by what appears to be a security guard. The two, alongside a few other people at the venue who try to help, attempt to calm down the man and assess the situation. This is the moment when the cameraman pans towards another area of the room, revealing another table that the man had flipped over.
Attendees were quickly instructed to stay where they were or return to their seats while they dealt with the chips that had now been mixed up. Many commenters on the video criticized the man’s actions, even referring to former poker players who have committed similar acts. However, a large majority of commenters were more focused on the fact that the man’s actions were likely as a result of losing a lot of money.
“Someone lost their life savings … Couple of other players are probably counting their lucky stars.”
Regardless of what the man’s reasoning might have been, there is never an excuse to be so violent, especially at an event like this. It’s likely that he’s been banned from all future events, so he won’t need to worry about losing chips ever again.
