Entitled California Karen Drags Her Dog Into ‘No Pets Allowed’ Store: ‘I’m Literally Only in Here for 5 Mins’

“That sign can’t stop me because I can’t read!”

It goes without saying that signs are a standard means to communicate a rule or regulation for your average Joe or Jane. However, that didn’t stop a Karen shopper in California marching into a Stater Bros. Market while dragging her dog in with her. In a photo posted by Reddit user iforgotwhat8is4 to r/mildlyinfuriating, a “No Pets Allowed” sign can be clearly seen right next to the woman waltzing into the store. Nevertheless, she doesn’t seem to show a care in the world, yanking her poor pet behind her.

“The dog looks like it read the sign and is being forced to break the rules by the owner lmaooo,” reads the post’s top comment, seeing how the dog is obviously not a fan of entering the Stater Bros. “I bet I can tell the make of this person’s cell phone, just from this photo,” remarks a second. Several replies to this comment claim they are certain that the entitled California Karen is an iPhone user. “‘I’m literally only in here for 5 mins’ -her, probably,” quips another. “So annoying.”

Others chime in, saying that the woman is the type of person who parks in the fire lane with her flashers on or leaves her shopping cart in the parking lot for the employees to collect.

Now, you could argue that the “No Pets Allowed” sign reads, “Service animals are welcome,” with the implication that the blonde Californian considers her pet to be a service dog. However, based on simple deductions, such as the size of the dog, this doesn’t seem to be the case. Moreover, if you read the fine print of the sign, it says, “This does not include pets or animals whose sole function is to provide emotional support, companionship, or comfort.” That said, the Karen could be fined up to $1,000 if she doesn’t comply, according to California Penal Code 365.7.

Other Redditors were infuriated at the way the shopper was forcibly pulling her dog by its leash. “D: poor doggo,” exclaimed one user. “Why does it look like she’s basically dragging that poor dog?” asked another. “Because it’s an accessory, not a pet,” said a reply.

Unfortunately, it’s unlikely that the woman will suffer any consequences for her actions besides perhaps being asked to leave the store with her dog. As one of the commenters put it, “Seems like we’re well past the point of no return with this selfish, entitled behavior.”
