We’ve all seen instances of flights getting delayed for the wildest reasons. From Karens to irate customers or something else entirely. Well, in today’s episode of “Why did that flight get delayed?” we have a passenger who delayed a whole flight in Atlanta just because he had to grab a smoke. When confronted, however, it seems the person was either too distracted or intoxicated to even realize what he was doing.
User SweeeetVibess shared the video on the r/IAmTheMainCharacter subreddit. In it, we can see a flight at the Atlanta International Airport suffering from a delay. The reason? A passenger decided to grab a smoke inside the bathroom before the plane took off.
In the video, the passengers and the airplane staff talk about the man. While the man is still inside, it seems he’s already getting kicked out of the airplane. One of the staff members says, “I already told them he’s going back to the gate.”
When the bathroom door opens, the man steps out, and the staff starts questioning him. Some even look at the smoke coming out of it. However, it seems the man is in a not-so-ideal state, as he has no idea what’s going on. It’s uncertain what kind of substance he was smoking, but whatever it was, this man was not focused at all.

After delaying the whole flight, the Atlanta International Airport staff kicked the man back to the gate. It’s uncertain if he got put on a “no-flight” list, but many speculate that was the case.
