A Tulare bakery owner in California became the subject of racial harassment recently when a man was caught dumping trash in his business’s refuse area. Not only was the owner of “Mi Panaderia, My Bakery” — Sergio Martinez — told to “go back to Mexico“, but the unidentified person also disposed of several large items of trash outside his bakery. In addition, there has allegedly been a further report of potential vandalism, as the window of an employee’s car was smashed as well, according to KSEE24 News. While the Tulare Police Department investigate the incident, a snippet of footage has been publicly shared online revealing the racially charged verbal altercation.
The 45-second video opens with expletive-laden dialogue as the man is confronted over dumping rubbish in the bakery owner’s refuse area. “What’s your f***ing problem?” fires the suspect, while he’s sat in his silver 4 x 4 truck sporting a black t-shirt. “You’re not supposed to be here, man. This is my business.” explains the baker. “I don’t care, bro. Go back to Mexico where they’re gonna put your a**.” Calmly, the business owner exclaims, “But this is my business, man.”
The clip then cuts to footage showing the same man, wearing a black t-shirt and white cap, taking various items of trash from the back of the same 4 x 4 vehicle and throwing them into the refuse bins behind the “Mi Panaderia, My Bakery”. You can even see the man place a large, worn-out tire into the dumpster. Another clip seemingly shows the same man but in a white vest throwing rubbish in the dumpster, likely on a different day.
Speaking to KSEE24 News, Martinez said that he didn’t have a problem with the man using his dumpster to throw away “small things,” but once he realised that it was becoming a trend and that the man was dumping lots of larger items, he confronted him. “I saw him a bunch of times and didn’t say anything,” Martinez said. “Then he came with a truck full of stuff. I told him something and he got mad.”
As expected, netizens have pored over the footage and are not best pleased by the man’s inconsiderate actions and racist attitude. Over on Reddit, one commenter encapsulated many viewers’ feelings, penning, “This MF gonna poach homie’s dumpster and get mouthy? Countdown to (his) Extinction” with another chiming in adding, “That’s crazy to be in the wrong and be a total piece of sh*t when you get caught. Guess what homeboy, he’s in his country.”
