New York Woman and Downstairs Neighbor Make Terrifying Eye Contact Through Shower Drain: ‘๐Ÿ˜ญ I Would Be So Scared’

Somebody’s in here

Yesterday, a New York woman filmed her new plumbing to show her sister, only to spot an eye staring back at her from the shower drain. The spooky onlooker? Her downstairs neighbor. As should be obvious from the hole in the tub, the plumbing wasn’t finished, and the shower wasn’t working. Given the context, it looks like an innocent (but super awkward) moment rather than intentional peeping. Even so, the incident adds yet another chapter to New York‘s long list of “oh no, absolutely not” moments. New York neighbors don’t need shower drain peepholes to be creeps, so let’s not give them more ammunition.

Shower Drain Eye Contact Gets Scary in New York

Only in New York ๐Ÿ˜‚ I made this video to show my sister the plumbing work they did and got a JUMP SCARE ๐Ÿ‘๏ธ #nyc #nycthings #newyorkcity #nycapartment

Subway bikers are one thing. A neighbor staring back at you from a New York shower drain? That’s some Stephen King-level horror. From the video, it also appears that the downstairs neighbor started talking when he saw a face appear above him. His words were muffled, however. Maybe that’s for the best. Spooky shower holes aren’t the ideal place for a chat. Of course, maybe he just wanted to apologize for the awkward eye contact. What’s worse? A scary eye in your bathroom or having to talk to the person behind it?

Katherineinmanhattan’s TikTok about the incident received over 130k likes and numerous comments. “๐Ÿ˜ญ i would be so scared [Sic],” said one commenter, summing it up for many. Curiosity about a plumbing project is no reason to jumpscare your neighbors like that. Thanks but no thanks, New York. Another commenter offered impractical but understandable advice, saying,

Idk how but sue them for being scary [Sic]

Hopefully, the plumbing will be finished soon. Then everyone’s eyes can keep to themselves. Many New Yorkers are already struggling due to high rent, rodents, overpolicing, and underfunded schools. Terrifying peepholes can stay in Psycho, thank you very much.
