Woman Brings Dog Inside a Sprouts Farmer Market in Cedar Park, Despite Not Being Allowed

It’s not the dog’s fault, though

Nowadays, many stores have become pet-friendly, which is amazing. Many of us love visiting places with our loyal companions and get them out of the house for some needed change of scenery. However, a few places still don’t allow pets, and some people seem to ignore that fact. One case happened in Cedar Park, Texas, where a woman entered a Sprouts Farmers Market with a dog despite it not allowing pets inside. As you can imagine, many people were not okay with the matter.

Don't bring dogs into stores

TacoTheSupremeNurse is the Redditor who shared the picture in the r/CedarPark subreddit. In it, you can see a woman who was apparently shopping inside Sprouts in Cedar Park and had a dog with her. Usually, this wouldn’t be a big issue in other places. However, this is a supermarket, and even if dogs are extremely cute and lovable, having them around groceries and other products isn’t too hygienic.

The OP said the following regarding the situation: “So, I will give the Sprouts crew some credit. Management came out and let her know it wasn’t appropriate or allowed, but let her check out. So… walking that tightrope.“

As you can see, the staff was aware of the dog being inside the store and wanted to do something about it. Now, we need to keep in mind that the dog might’ve been a service dog, and in that case, it was more than allowed to be there. However, there wasn’t any indication on the matter.

A few people shared their thoughts on the situation:

“The Whole Foods on Mopac has a sign by the front door saying only legit service animals allowed inside. It’s not hard.” – Ok-description-4640 via Reddit.

“I love animals and have my own but I’m so icked out by this in a grocery store.” – Sorbee via Reddit.

Ultimately, it is uncertain whether the dog was a service animal. If it was, the staff could only ask the two questions allowed by the ADA. Then again, it would be better to have a clear indication of whether your furry friend is a service animal or not.
