No insurance for road rage

Good old road rage. Everybody is familiar with it, has experienced it themselves most likely, and these days, it’s something that’s growing far more dangerous as you never know if flipping the bird is going to end with somebody taking a gun out and shooting everything up. One Los Angeles afternoon escalated into terror as a California woman tried to steal a car, then went on a rampage in the parking lot before innocent bystanders were able to try and put a stop to her madness.

Woman shoplifting attempts the Great Escape in her car, almost kills a few folk, gets tackled by bystanders.

In an absolutely wild video shared by a user named PrismPhoneService in the r/PublicFreakout, a woman can be seen in a sedan going violently forward and backward wrecklessly in a crowded LA parking lot. The woman hits people, parked cars, and everything in between as she is being shouted at, and they try to get her out of the vehicle. They eventually succeed, and bring her to the ground and hold her while they wait for police to show up.

While many people on the Reddit page claimed the woman was a shoplifter, it turns out the video is from an incident in March 2023. The woman tried stealing a car, but it had an old-school club on the wheel. This is why the woman could not turn during her rampage and failed to steal the vehicle. According to CBS News, a woman stated the following.

When she couldn’t get the lady’s purse from her, she got in her car and she tried to steal the car, I was so scared, because she was definitely out of it. She was determined to get out of here, out of the parking lot.

Several folks on Reddit have a lot to say about the woman and the club, an old anti-theft device that people can’t believe is still being used today.

“People still have the Club? That’s incredible. “

“Better to be safe than sorry. My dad, who still uses a club after over 50 years of driving cars”

“People who have the tendency to freak out like this with a heavy machine should be barred from driving for life. This is absolutely unhinged.”

“Bruh wtf. That escalated FAST… That should be on the definition of ‘public freakout’.”

That is right, folks. Make sure to lock your door always. You never know who will be bold enough to carjack you in a crowded Los Angeles parking lot next time you go shopping.
