North Carolina Wife, Laurenagans, Shares Video That Has Couples Divided, “Ma’am, Your Husband Has Just Sat Down and He Looks Comfortable”

It’s just a joke, people

There’s a phrase we’re probably all familiar with that goes, “Be your spouse’s peace.” To some, this means working together and not entering a battle zone with one another if things go south. If there are problems, you work through them. One woman from North Carolina, TikTok user laurengans, shared a joke video that has social media divided. It showed how you can successfully bring your wife back from the dead. It is certainly not peaceful, but it is hilarious.

The video, posted on r/TikTokCringe, shows a woman dressed as a doctor and using children’s toys to make her point. The video, captioned ‘How to save a wife’s life,’ shows Doctor Lauren saying “I’m losing her!” as it pans over to herself as a patient lying in bed, dying.

We then see Lauren dressed as a nurse asking, “Is she married?” to which the doctor responds, “Uh, yes.” The nurse then leans over her patient, saying, “Ma’am, your husband has just sat down and he looks comfortable.” The dying woman flings out of bed and shouts, “Babe, could you help me move—“ before it cuts off.

I found the TikTok hysterical because I’m sure, like me, so many married couples can relate. And on many occasions, I’ve been guilty of this myself.

There were several reactions to the video of individuals who found the content funny, saying “The toy replacements for actual medical equipment is legit funny though,” and, “I love my wife, she is my best friend. We have an exceptional relationship, I would never speak ill of her and have no reason to. This video is still funny, and I can relate to it.”

It goes to show poking a little fun at one another during your marriage is typically all in good fun. You may even get a hilarious story to share with your friends and family. Who doesn’t love a little play fighting?

Others were clearly offended by the gag content. One person said “Boomer humor” to which another person replied, “Yeah but it’s still kinda funny. She sold it well.” Another commenter asked, “Why did the comments get serious about a pretty mild joke?” which is a common theme on Reddit and really anywhere else on social media where people twist harmless jokes on a daily.

Others replied, “Redditors hate seeing people enjoy their lives” and “Is it just me or is this becoming extremely common on Reddit lately? Like when did everyone start taking everything way too seriously?”

It’s a good point. Plenty of actually harmful content out there needs to be called out. Not every video regarding a couple poking fun at each other is a slight against one another, nor is it serious enough to call for divorce, like some commenters implied. Sometimes, it really is just a couple having fun and pointing out that nobody in a partnership is going to be perfect.
