Suspicious Miami Truck Tries to Sell People Cryptocurrency by Promoting Sugar Daddies

Creativity has no limits

Miami Truck Cryptocurrency Scam

When you thought you’d seen all the lengths people go to to sell you cryptocurrency, a new technique appears. Recently, citizens in Miami, Florida, have spotted a truck trying to promote sugar daddies by following a QR code. However, there’s something shady behind this (as if promoting sugar daddies in public wasn’t shady enough, but well). It seems that following this QR code takes people to a cryptocurrency site, making this either the worst or best idea to sell crypto tokens to people.

Note: We’ve included the original images with the QR code, but we don’t encourage you to scan them or follow the link. If you do so, do so at your own risk.

Reddit user AlwaysSunnyin305 shared the pictures in the r/Miami Subreddit. In them, we can observe a truck roaming around Miami with a screen promoting sugar daddies. The two pictures say, “We’re making chivalry great again. It’s sugar daddy season,” and “Dump your loser boyfriend. It’s sugar daddy season!” However, there’s another thing in these poorly made advertisements. In the corner of the screen, you can see a QR code. Naturally, a lot of people were skeptical about this, and while a few joked around, saying a sugar daddy would be great, no one dared to scan the code. Or at least that was the case until one brave user decided to do it.

Redditor ahj3939 decided to scan the code and said the following:

“It’s some crypto token, I can scan the QR code from your photo. It did not drain anything from my phone not sure why people are afraid of URLs.“

It would seem that the link doesn’t steal your information or something like that. However, it tries to sell you or give you a crypto token, which is still quite shady.

It is wild to see the stunts these people perform to sell cryptocurrency or promote a new token. And if you were looking for a sugar daddy, these QR codes will not get you one. Sorry.
