I’m glad he’s doing this for his family

I only follow a few select YouTubers or TikTokers. However, every time an Outdoor Boys video crossed my For You Page, I would make sure to sit and watch it in its entirety. It didn’t matter if it was posted to the official page or a third-party fan page. So, I was among the many people who were shocked to hear that the Alaskan YouTuber would be stepping back after receiving an overwhelming amount of success over the last couple of years. I guess when you’re going to quit something, it’s best to do it when you’re already on top!

Luke Nichols of the Outdoor Boys YouTube channel released a heartfelt farewell video stating that while he has enjoyed his time creating content that has provided financial benefits for his family, the volume of attention has been a ‘bit overwhelming’. Luke didn’t close the door on a possible return to content creation for his 15.3M YouTube subscribers, only that he needs time away from the spotlight to live a ‘normal life’ and to be present for his adolescent son. 📷 Outdoor Boys/YT #outdoors #influencer #goodbye #news

Luke Nichols, the face behind the popular outdoors-themed YouTube channel, mainly posts videos about surviving outdoors in various weather conditions. The Alaskan native is sometimes accompanied by his sons, but he is primarily known for providing handy tips and tricks for those who love the outdoors. Because Nichols is also incredibly kind and intellectual, his channel has become loved by people even outside that space.

In his latest video, he shared that he will be stepping back from creating content for the channel. More specifically, he finds his fame to be overwhelming, detailing how he is constantly approached in public and feels pressured to create more and more videos. At this point, his account has over 15.3 million followers. This farewell was not just a goodbye; it also served as an encouraging message for viewers to pass on the support he had given them to others in their lives. However, fans were quick to flood the comments with sentimental messages including, “We luv outdoor boys.”

I can absolutely appreciate Luke Nichols’ concerns about the safety of his family. At the end of the day, it is true that when a person’s notoriety gets out of control, the problem can spread to family members. While I will definitely miss his content, I am glad he is favoring his wife and children above all else.
