Marvel Rivals keeps surprising us with every update. Contrary to other games of the genre, this hero shooter is one that keeps on giving. When we thought we had seen all heroes and villains for a while, new ones join the roster, making the Rivals family even larger with each patch, and Season 2.5 for Marvel Rivals isn’t the exception. When it launches, one of the most iconic nemesis of the Avengers will join the fray alongside many updates, balance adjustments, a new map, and more.

Marvel Rivals Season 2.5 Launches on May 30

If you didn’t see the announcement, Marvel Rivals will kick off its Season 2.5 on May 30. That means you have almost a week to complete everything that’s left on the current season and prepare for the new major update.

The highlight of Season 2.5 is Ultron, who joins as a new Strategist. He’ll be able to constantly heal allies while also soaring across the sky. On top of that, he has an excellent design that comic book fans and those who followed the MCU will love.

However, Ultron isn’t the only new shiny thing in the season. The team at Marvel Rivals has confirmed a few balance adjustments to many characters. Magneto, Doctor Strange, The Punisher, Storm, and Squirrel Girl will receive some well-deserved buffs. On the other hand, Groot, Captain America, Emma Frost, Iron Fist, Human Torch, and Psylocke will get nerfs.

In the team-up landscape, this season will say goodbye to Chilling Charisma, Allied Agents, Ammo Overload, and Symbiote Bond. Iron Man will also leave the Gamma Charge team-up. So, if you enjoy performing any of those, enjoy them while they last.

On top of that, there’s a new Ultron-inspired map coming, as well as a new game mode. The latter will launch on June 6. Many have described it as a combination of Team Fight Tactics from League of Legends and chess. It will be interesting to see how it works once it launches. In any case, there are many things coming with Season 2.5 of Marvel Rivals, and it is great to see the developers are always hard at work to bring us new content.

Remember, Season 2.5 will kick off on May 30, and there will be a minor downtime while the patch rolls out. After that, though, you’re free to fire up those thrusters and get back into the fight, which is about to get even more chaotic.
