There are plenty of people out there who take their job seriously. From taking optional overtime hours to volunteering for huge projects, people show their commitment to the workplace daily. But would you stay at work if you desperately needed to go to the hospital? What if it was because you were in active labor? For one CBS6 news anchor in New York, it was just another day as she continued a broadcast while in labor with her child.

The news anchor, Olivia Jaquith, takes her job seriously at CBS6 in Albany. Olivia’s co-worker, Julia Dunn, started off a three-hour news broadcast by announcing, “We do have some breaking news this morning. Literally, Olivia’s water has broke, and she is anchoring the news now in active labor.” Olivia jumped in with, “Early labor. Let’s not get carried away.”

Showing her love for the job, she explained that her water broke on the way to the bathroom, but she wanted to stay at her desk for as long as she could before going to the hospital. Call it about-to-have-a-baby nerves or crazy dedication.

Olivia said her reason for continuing the broadcast was simply, “I think I can get through a three-hour show.” Olivia was in good company during the broadcast, as Julia also announced recently that she is pregnant.

While the stream went on, various messages popped up on the screen to celebrate the upcoming birth such as “Baby Watch” and “Here Comes Baby P, Good Luck Olivia.” At the end of the session, Olivia and Julia high-fived each other.

Julia proclaimed, “Look at that. Three hours of news, in contractions. I think that’s a first for CBS6.” And she’s right—especially because Olivia really kept her cool the entire time.

Olivia finally ended the news broadcast with a heartfelt and humorous, “Well, hopefully I don’t see you tomorrow, but make sure you join Julia.” CBS6 has since revealed that the birth heard ‘round the world was a success, as Olivia gave birth to a baby boy.

Re-watching the CBS6 broadcast in the future will probably be something entertaining that Olivia and her son can do to pay tribute to such a memorable day on the air!
