The internet is filled with fascinating footage captured from doorbell cameras. Some of it is terrifying and makes you never want to set foot outside of your home again, while other videos can be quite amusing. Then you have this recent incident that took place in Austin, Texas, that has left many people in total disbelief!
A short clip was posted on TikTok by user hailstormatx. It shows two people leaving their home and heading into the garden. The first woman immediately spots danger and starts running back in the direction she came from. Still, the second person proves they have no survival instincts at all because their reaction times are slow (and that’s being generous).
The text overlay on the video reads: “POV it’s monday,” and then you can sort of understand those reaction times because most of us need several coffees to function before we are of any use to anyone on a Monday morning.
People React With Hilarious Comments to This Person’s Slow Reaction Speed
There are a few seconds of waiting before you spot the danger. Most people immediately assumed it was some large and dangerous animal on the loose. Is it a bear? How about a mountain lion? We have seen videos before of animals wandering into homes and places they should not be. But nope, it was a car coming crashing into the garden!
Unfortunately, the Texas TikToker who shared the video offered no context, but they used the hashtags “doorbellcamera” and “austin,” giving us some clues about what was taking place.
The video is entertaining, but the comment section of the TikTok post is absolute gold, and we dare you not to giggle reading the reactions from people blown away by how the second person took their time fleeing from the scene. “Oh theyre running is it a bear, a bobcat? no its a 2020 toyota corolla,” a TikTok user wrote. “I can’t breathe what is happening lmaoooo,” another shared.
Other hilarious reactions include, “I’m expecting gunshots or something to go off. Then I see a Prius,” “I thought there was going to be some big animal, but a car?” and “Girl when you said ’get in the house’ I didn’t know what was about to happen but it sure as hell wasn’t that.”
There is also a comment from someone who hilariously pointed out that you can’t rely on this person to react in an emergency. “lol let’s just make sure that the second person is NOT an emergency contact,” they wrote. The comment has been liked over 24,000 times by others who are in agreement!
While we cannot comment on the Austin driver’s status, thankfully, neither of the two people who fled (in one case, eventually) from the scene were injured. Maybe next time they see their friend running, they’ll do the same?!
