What began as an intimate moment for a teenage girl in Missouri took a dramatic turn when her boyfriend’s mother entered the picture.
In a Reddit post captioned “I sent inappropriate photos to my boyfriend and his mom found them and may go to the cops,” a young girl detailed the full incident, seeking legal advice. The unnamed teenager revealed that she had initially sent nude pictures to her boyfriend, who is the same age as she is. The pictures didn’t show her face, but they visibly showed her room in the background.
However, rather than respond to the explicit pictures, the boyfriend sent back the photos with her “chest and nipples blacked out.” Apparently, his mom found them on his phone and took screenshots. Besides that, she also attacked the boyfriend, hitting his head on the tiled floor, “and probably gave him a concussion,” wrote the teenager.
Obviously confused about what to do, the young girl posed her question to the Reddit audience: “What will happen if she goes to the police?”
The Missouri teenager further stated that both she and her boyfriend are underage, albeit the same age. She also added, “He has been in trouble for stuff like this before, but I have never ever done anything even slightly illegal.”
The poster added that her boyfriend had been found with similar explicit photos three times in the past and faced legal trouble for it. Some of them were from people he knew, others were simply forwarded to him by his friends, who remain unidentified. However, she is still confused regarding what the legal repercussions of her case might be.
The audience on Reddit didn’t hesitate to pour out their opinions regarding the issue. One asked, “Is it not illegal for his mom to then screenshot a minor’s nudes and send them to herself?” Another replied that it “could possibly meet the definition of disseminating child pornography.” However, it may be dependent on their location.
Some users advised the teenage girl to report her boyfriend’s mother to either the police, CPS, a teacher, a school counselor, or any adult she has access to. They further specified that she should “flip the script and call the police” to report the mother for “child porn and physical assault of her son.”
They also advised the teenager to stop sending nude pictures until she’s older. “… Also, please stop sending nudes till you’re an adult.”
Notably, the teenage girl acknowledged that she shouldn’t have associated with her boyfriend in the first place because of his petty criminal history.
