A heated argument unfolded between two drivers recently in Downey, California, which resulted in a car mirror being smashed. The incident took place at a traffic stop, and was caught on camera by a passerby who was purchasing drinks from a liquor store across the street.

In the 57-second clip, a stationary black 4×4 and a silver Toyota vehicle can be seen at a traffic stop, with several people crowded around both cars. As the footage is being recorded from a distance, you can’t make out what is being said, but inferring from their body language, it seems that the argument is getting quite heated. In fact, moments into the video, the driver of the black SUV, who is sporting black pants and an orange sleeveless hoodie, suddenly begins striking the Toyota’s side mirror with force.

After two strong blows, the Toyota’s side mirror is smashed off the car. Obviously, the driver of the Toyota is not very pleased with the aggressive attack on his vehicle. Wearing a black t-shirt and black shorts, the driver of the Toyota vehicle exits his car, and approaches the other angry driver, resulting in a tense standoff. In a dramatic display of macho posturing, however, the Toyota driver takes off his t-shirt, and places it back in his car, in a bid to instigate a physical altercation.

However, the SUV driver doesn’t seem too interested in a fight, and simply remains sat in his vehicle. Moments later, the SUV driver drives away and exits the scene, leaving the shirtless man posturing in the street on his lonesome. As the annoyed shirtless man gets back into his car, the video comes to a close.

On social media, users took to the comment section to air their thoughts on the disturbing altercation. Over on Reddit, the OP wrote, “My favorite part of watching this in person was that he just let the guy drive away lmfaoo. Didn’t even chase after him.” while another weighed in with, “Amazing to me is how people aren’t worried about getting shot in these types of situations. I mean, there’s no way I’m getting out of my car during a road rage incident, much less approaching someone else’s.“

Right now, concrete information about the road rage incident remains scarce. While we don’t know if the SUV driver was charged over the damage to the Toyota, it’s fair to say that the altercation serves as a timely reminder of the importance of staying calm behind the wheel, even in frustrating traffic situations.
