Instead of expressing regret over how things ended with Davino, she said she’s happier than ever.
Sydney Sweeney Single Again After Calling Off Engagement
On Saturday, May 31, Sydney Sweeney broke her silence about her breakup with Jonathan Davino in a conversation with The Times. When the publication asked her if she was still planning a wedding, Sweeney confirmed she wasn’t because she had recently become single again. Luckily, it seems she’s doing fine on her own. “I’m learning a lot about myself, spending more time with my friends. And I’m loving it,” Sweeney said.
The Euphoria star said she’s spending her free time focusing on her favorite hobbies, like going on hikes with her dogs and fixing up cars in her garage. She’s also been busy finding more projects to show off her versatility as an actress. Sweeney has been working so hard that sometimes her family worries about her. She told the publication that they fear she’ll burn herself out one day if she doesn’t slow down. “Sydney, you need to take a break,” she recalls them telling her.
However, that hasn’t stopped her from continuing to book projects anyway. Sweeney said she keeps pushing herself because she feels like she hasn’t reached her peak. “I don’t think I’ve felt that yet,” she said. She knows she has so much more to offer as an actress, which is why she’s so determined to climb even higher in her career.
Fans Saw Her Breakup Coming
Interestingly, her ambition is why many fans think she decided to leave her fiancé. Sydney Sweeney and Jonathan Davino began dating in the fall of 2018, just a year before she found fame on Euphoria. They sparked romance rumors after being seen together in public several times. Even though they were obviously together, Sweeney continued to be coy about her relationship with Davino over the years. For example, in a 2019 interview with Elite Daily, she referred to him as her “friend” instead of boyfriend.
Sweeney also kept quiet about their engagement. While most celebrities announce the good news on social media, fans only learned about the actress’s engagement through the media. People broke the news in March 2022 after Sweeney was spotted wearing a huge ring on that finger.
Unfortunately, fans didn’t think Sydney Sweeney and Jonathan Davino’s relationship would last. After she became more famous with roles in Anyone but You and The White Lotus, they predicted she would leave Davino. Their speculation grew the longer it took for the pair to walk down the aisle.
