Dune: Awakening lets players choose many things that will affect their early hours in the game, and a few other things that will have a permanent impact on who they are in Arrakis. One of the latter is everyone’s Homeworld, which gives you new choices in certain dialogues beyond providing an origin for your Dune: Awakening character. If you’re still on the fence about which to pick, we’ve made a quick guide about all Homeworlds in the game and which ones are the best for you.
All Homeworlds in Dune: Awakening
After customizing your character, you’ll get to pick between five Homeworlds in Dune: Awakening. These are the options and their perks:
- Giedi Prime
- Dialogue Trait: Deception
- Emote: Harkonnen Curse
- Chusuk
- Dialogue Trait: Cultured
- Emote: Chusuk Music
- Caladan
- Dialogue Trait: Honorable
- Emote: Atreides Salute
- Kaitain
- Dialogue Trait: Political
- Emote: Kaitain Bow
- Ix
- Dialogue Trait: Technologist
- Emote: Ixian Secret
If you’re choosing a Homeworld, the only differences are the Dialog Trait and Emotes. The former unlocks new dialogue options with certain NPCs. At the time of writing, we’ve only seen dialogue options that provide a bit of lore, but nothing that changes the story in an impactful way. Furthermore, emotes are purely cosmetic and do not provide any advantages.
Are There Homeworld Bonuses?
Outside of the abovementioned ones, there’s nothing. By selecting your Homeworld in Dune: Awakening, you’ll only get a trait and an emote. The former affects a few conversations, but it seems they only help you get different dialogues or unlock more lore, if that’s something you want to do.
With that in mind, there isn’t a Homeworld we consider the best. If you are on the fence about picking one, go with the one that suits your character better, or go for any of the worlds you’ve seen in the new Dune movies. Also, Homeworlds do not affect guilds or factions. Furthermore, even if your friends picked a different homeworld, you can still form a guild with them and party up, so it’s more of a role-playing aspect than anything else.
