To break the pace of the recent bombardment of bad news across the country, the people in Naples, Florida, shared the hilarious and strange clip of a black bear swimming on the beach. We often joke that the strangest things happen in Florida, and well, this is clear evidence that it is right. However, this time it wasn’t caused by a human. Instead, it was this furry animal who decided to take a cooling trip in the waters of Naples. As you can imagine, a lot of people found this a bit surreal, but nothing they couldn’t “bear.” Get it?
User misterxx1958 shared the clip on Reddit, which Michele Boose originally took. As you can see, a black bear entered the waters of Naples to cool off. The bear seems to be minding its own business and not really caring about others around it. Although, and to be fair, the beach was a bit empty, so that gave our furry swimmer some privacy.
Still, Michele Boose and other social media users decided to share the clip, which has now become famous all around Naples and Florida. Naturally, this prompted a lot of reactions online:

On the other hand, Matt Devitt Weather’s Instagram post, which also shared the clip, turned a bit political when people started debating what Gulf the OP was referring to.
Many commenters claimed the bear was in the newly named and not official Gulf of America, while others emphasized that this is the Gulf of Mexico. Fortunately, these comments were scarce, and most people focused on the fact that a black bear decided to take a dip in Naples.
We don’t blame the bear, though. The weather has been terrible for all people in Florida, and if people with shorts and tops want to get into the water, we imagine how an animal with thick fur must feel. Sadly, Summer hasn’t officially started, so that means the weather will only get hotter in the coming weeks.
