A violent scene unfolded recently in the Galleria mall’s yellow parking garage in Houston, Texas, which saw a man open fire on a woman’s vehicle. The suspect fled the scene shortly after, and is currently still at large. The incident reportedly occurred at 1pm on Saturday afternoon on 5800 block of Westheimer Road, and was captured by a witness’s dashcam footage. Fortunately, according to the Houston Police Department, there were no injuries or casualties.
The brief snippet of footage shows the suspect in a white polo shirt, skinny black jeans, a grey trilby hat, and white trainers stood next to a black BMW. In his right hand, he’s holding a pistol, which he cocks before unloading six bullets into the vehicle in front of him, which drives away. The suspect then gets into his car, which ends the short video.
According to the police, and as first reported by ABC13 News, the woman in the parking garage asked someone else if he was leaving. Once they backed up their car to allow them to pull out, so that she could use the parking spot, the driver behind her got out of his vehicle and pointed the gun at her. While the other car exited, police say the suspect opened fire on the woman’s vehicle, although the shooter managed to flee the scene shortly after.
As the video makes the rounds online, viewers took to the comments section to share their thoughts. Over on TikTok, one user wrote, “Houston is so GHETTO“, while another weighed in with, “This why I shop online😭😭 if the size it too big or too small I’m willing to wait for the right size in the mail 😂😂😂😂😂”. A third commenter chipped in, penning, “He’s acting like he’s not going have any consequences for his actions.”
According to ABC13 News, a Galleria mall spokesperson released the following statement:
The Galleria is among the most protected properties in Houston, with dozens of active police and security professionals patrolling the property 24/7, thousands of CCTV cameras monitoring the property, license plate readers that are connected to the Houston Police Department at all vehicular entrances, two K9s and armed handlers, among many other measures. We spend millions of dollars every year to fortify the property, and our program is Safety Act Certified by the Department of Homeland Security, recognizing our significant and continuous efforts to safeguard our retailers and the public.

Our advice to those who want to commit a crime is don’t bother coming here, as they will be found. On-site police responded to this isolated incident within moments, leading to the quick detention of the suspects. We continue to cooperate with the Houston Police Department in their investigation
At the time of writing, no one involved in the incident has been identified, and Houston Police Department are currently investigating the shooting. Interestingly, however, this is the third shooting to happen at the Galleria mall in three weeks. On Tuesday, a 30-year-old man was shot and killed in the orange garage of the same mall. Meanwhile, the prior Sunday, a man identified by HPD as 42-year-old Maxie Whitaker, was shot and injured by an officer working off duty security at the mall. Right now, there’s no indication that the three different shooting incidents are related.
