The speculation comes from Polish YouTuber Boris Nicepolak, who has previously shared accurate insider information about CD Projekt Red. According to Nicepolak, CDPR is developing the unannounced project with Fool’s Theory, the studio that is also currently working on the Witcher 1 Remake. It will allegedly serve as a story-driven piece of DLC, with a tentative release window of 2026.
While none of this has been officially confirmed, the rumor has gained traction due to Nicepolak’s track record and the involvement of multiple independent sources. The suggested timeline for upcoming Witcher projects reportedly starts with official mod support for consoles later this year, followed by the new Witcher 3 DLC, then The Witcher 4, and finally the Witcher 1 remake. Witcher fans are eating well these days.
It’s unclear what form this potential expansion might take. With The Witcher 3 celebrating its 10th anniversary and having already received two major expansions, Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine, some are speculating that the new content could be tied to the upcoming mod support, possibly as a collection of official quests or even a curated mod store.
