Meghan Markle takes another blow as South Park threatens a new episode, mocking her viral pregnancy twerking video. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s fall from grace in the United States is largely linked to a satirical South Park episode released in February 2023. The episode, titled, The Worldwide Privacy Tour brutally mocked the Sussexes’ continuous quest for privacy from the nosy press, which supposedly drove them to flee the British royal family. It portrayed animated depictions of Harry and Meghan putting themselves in very public situations while ironically demanding their privacy and warning anyone who looked their way not to look at them.
The satirical parody made for a good laugh, but also opened the doors for Harry and Meghan to be targeted guilt-free by critics and comedians alike. While the damaging impact of the South Park episode on their reputation has yet to be reversed, the Comedy Central show is reportedly cooking a new episode targeting the recent video of Meghan Markle twerking while pregnant.
Meghan’s Twerking Video Gains Traction
Meghan shared the critically panned clip via Instagram on June 4 to mark the fourth birthday of her daughter, Princess Lilibeth. She accompanied the video with a caption explaining that the pregnancy was way past its due date, and after trying other means to trigger labour, they resorted to dancing. The clip showed Harry and Meghan dancing to Starrkeisha’s The Baby Momma Dance in the hospital’s delivery room, which many criticized as cringeworthy and unbefitting of someone with ties to the British royal family. Most also slammed Meghan and Harry’s hypocrisy, calling out the duchess for sharing a clip of such a private moment, after going to extra lengths to keep her pregnancy hidden four years back.
Amid this prevailing backlash, calls for South Park creators to bite Meghan Markle once again, with a satirical episode centering around her pregnancy and twerking video, flooded social media platforms. Many made a play on the Sussexes’ “Respect Our Privacy” request, tweaking it to read “Respect Our Pregnancy,” as a potential title for said episode. Speculations that Paramount+ had already heeded this call soon surfaced, with rumors suggesting the producers had the parody episode, titled Respect Our Pregnancy, in the works, which could potentially stir tension in Harry and Meghan’s California life and within Palace walls.
Meghan Markle Reportedly Weary of Upcoming South Park Episode
Rumors suggest Meghan Markle’s team was already fighting back to prevent the South Park episode’s release, even drafting legal documents in preparation for a defamation lawsuit. Despite the rumors, netizens remain pumped for the release of the episode, giving Pamount+ the green light to add even spicier content like the Sussexes’ reported NYC high-speed car chase, Harry’s security battle, and their constant PR staff reshuffling. One Reddit user urged,
“This is wonderful news if true. The only thing I’d also like to see is the high-speed car chase in NYC where an old person with a walker is passing them. Unrelated, but I’d also like to see a 9-month pregnant woman copy Meghan’s dance. It’s just unnatural to me how her belly moves up to her chest when she’s twerking.”
Another noted,
“I’m torn… on the one hand, it would obviously be hilarious and cutting. On the other hand, it stamps Haz and Megz as still being relevant in the public eye, and I hate that being reinforced. I also think South Park can’t improve on the perfection of their Privacy episode.”

A third wrote,
“I truly hope South Park takes another jab at them. That will bring attention, but the Sussexes need to grow some thick skin.”
Netizens also wrote off the possibility of Harry and Meghan Markle suing the South Park creators over the upcoming episode, noting that parody shows were protected by the First Amendment. Additionally, the failure of Paramount+ and Comedy Central to outrightly deny the rumors all but confirms they indeed had something brewing, according to fans.
Notably, since season 26 of South Park last aired on Comedy Central in March 2023, the American animated series has taken a back seat, with no new episodes released. However, the series, poised for a boot from HBO Max, would return for a 27th season on July 9, 2025, streaming predominantly on Paramount+. Although unclear if the long-anticipated season would feature the projected Respect Our Pregnancy episode, there is no ruling out a special episode depicting that, as the show has been known to do in years past.
