A mother in Alabama is dealing with a dilemma that all parents must go through, choosing the perfect name for their baby. It’s always a tough decision to name a child, but this woman is taking things to a new level as she’s documented her various name changes for her newborn baby daughter. However, the internet isn’t exactly loving the new mom’s indecision, and the comment section has become a bit controversial.

It all started when the Alabama mother shared a video to her TikTok account revealing that she wanted to change her newborn baby’s name.

“Is it controversial to change your newborn’s name after you leave the hospital?” she asked in the video.

The woman named Kate went on to reveal that she felt a bit pressured to give her daughter a name when she and her husband were presented with the birth certificate. So, she decided to play it safe and name the little girl after her husband’s grandmothers. She settled on the name Margaret Joan. Then she immediately regretted it.

Kate admitted that while she liked the name, she didn’t believe it fit her little girl. Instead, she imagined her as Madelyn instead. She then revealed that she’s considering changing the name legally. She later revealed that they had decided on Madelyn. She even made a video about little Maddy being a Taylor Swift fan.

However, just three days later, Kate changed her mind again. She said that after revealing the name Madelyn for her daughter, she began to realize that there were so many other Madelyns in the world. It seems that the name wasn’t original enough for the new mom, and she chose a brand-new name for the baby girl.

“So we’re changing her name…again,” Kate said in a video. We just felt like it was way too common,” she admitted. “Can’t do it,” she added. “So instead her name is Winona,” she revealed. “Winona Joan. Final answer.”

Replying to @Courtney Dupre783 it’s just a much more fun name there’s so many songs about Winona’s She’s My Winona | her name is Nona she’s a rocker with a nose ring | you could be my Winona, and I could get your name in a heart tattoo #babynames #babynameideas #babygirinames #namesweloved #namesilovebutwontbeusing #classicbabynames #pregnancytiktok #pregnantmom #girlnames

After the third baby name, TikTok started to speak out in a bit of annoyance.

“Ok girl now you acting like she’s a fish,” one person commented.

“You had 9 months,” another stated.

“Imagine when Winona finds out her name could have been Madeline,” a third person wrote.

“This is embarrassing,” another quipped.

“Winona Joan sounds like a 60 year old woman,” one TikTok user claimed.

In the end, the Alabama woman seems to be sticking to her guns. It’s her child, and she wants to give her the perfect name. Unfortunately, the indecision in the videos will live on the internet forever.
