ICE strikes once again, and this time they’re targeting a DTLA street vendor. On the morning of June 24, 2025, a coordinated ICE operation focused on a street food vendor in Downtown Los Angeles, California, leading to a fast and highly visible law enforcement response. The incident took place at around 9:09 AM, near the intersection of East 9th Street and Main Street.

According to Reddit user Standard_Film6172, the initial target was a food vendor operating in that area. Four unmarked ICE vehicles were seen arriving at the scene, and within just five minutes, at least three individuals were reportedly arrested. A few minutes after the first arrest, eight marked LAPD patrol cars showed up to support ICE, completely blocking off sections of the street.

After witnessing the incident, user Standard_Film6172 uploaded a video clip to the Los Angeles subreddit. In the video, you can see a group of ICE agents tackling a man. Some of them are in uniform while others are dressed in plain clothes. Four people are seen pinning one person to the ground.

One uniformed agent appears to be trying to hold back bystanders, while two other plainclothes ICE agents push back a woman attempting to get closer to the scene. The woman in white seems to know the person being arrested. There’s also one woman and one man who were left alone, continuing to record the situation up close without being stopped.

Numerous Reddit users who saw the video on social media expressed strong criticism and dissatisfaction with the actions of the ICE agents. This isn’t the first time something like this has happened. In fact, unless you’ve been completely ignoring the news, you’ve probably seen how aggressive ICE has become in arresting various immigrants.

One Reddit user sarcastically asked, “Are we great again yet?” referencing Trump’s promise that deporting immigrants would somehow make America great again. But instead of greatness, all it’s done is spread fear and uncertainty across the country.

Others pointed out how ridiculous it was to see so many agents and so many resources used just to arrest a handful of people who weren’t even committing any crimes or causing harm. One user wrote, “Imagine if they used it to find criminals and help the community, that would be cool. A guy can dream, you know!”

Some users also questioned why LAPD is so willing to assist ICE. It served as a harsh reminder that Los Angeles has actually spent over $11 million supporting immigration crackdowns, despite the city’s public stance as a sanctuary for immigrants.
