Some people like to make a mountain out of a molehill; likewise, others would like to make a million dollars out of a minor mishap. That being said, a Texas woman parking her car accidentally scratched another driver’s car. He wasn’t injured, and the woman’s insurance company covered the damages. However, come a few months later, the man contacts the woman and her husband out of the blue, demanding they pay him an outrageous $1 million for bodily injuries. “[It was] literally a scratch, not even a dent!” the husband protested. How could he even have gotten hurt, let alone sue for a million dollars?

The Texas couple decided to leave the matter to their insurance company, which offered around $10,000 to settle the case; however, the victim driver declined. “Now the insurance company called me saying that someone has served me court papers. No one served me or my wife anything,” the husband claims. He asked his insurance company for details of these ‘$1M bodily injuries’ but was declined due to “HIPPA violation concerns.” Needless to say, the couple suspects the driver might have colluded with his lawyer and doctor to fabricate false reports and statements about what actually happened.

Scratched their car and now getting sued for 1 million dollars…

Reddit believes that the man with the scratched car likely won’t get a dollar, let alone a million. Not to mention, the couple’s insurance already paid for the minor damage. “Insurance investigators can testify under oath all it was, was a scratch,” the top comment of the story’s post reads. “No scratch could give bodily injury, not to mention worth 1mil. Dude is trying to f**k you.” “Dude is insane,” another person remarks. “Absent life-altering catastrophic injury, nobody is getting that amount of money,” agrees a third.

Many think the man doesn’t even have an actual legal case in place and had a ‘scam insurance company‘ to assist him in carrying out the ‘suing.’ Whatever the case, it’s very improbable the weird man will get anything except the disappointment that his dumb scheme to get rich quick was foiled.
