The New Seattle Police Chief Says He Will Go to Jail To Protect Immigrants Against Trump and ICE ‘A real patriot’

Ever since Trump was elected into power, his administration has been moving quickly to enact his policies. From the big bill, clear stock market manipulation, and most of all, aggressive ICE deportations. In Seattle, a newly appointed police chief has his own opinions on the current administration, and, according to his own words, he is willing to go to jail over them.

More of this Please!!! They are Civil Servants and we are Civilians...

In a post shared on YouTube via the TonyMichaelsPodcast channel, new Seattle Police Chief Shon Barnes had a lot to say about the current administration and his beliefs on protecting citizens and immigrants alike. Here is what he said.

Protect anyone in Seattle from anyone who comes to this city with the intention to hurt them or inhibit their First Amendment rights, and what that means is at some point I will probably go to jail and be in prison, because we have an administration that has threatened to jail politicians and indeed has done so in Milwaukee and has threatened to jail a governer. I’m just a simple public servant that’s all I am.

The message is loud and clear, and many people on Reddit and YouTube have been celebrating it. Chief Shon Barnes was the interim police chief for Seattle recently, but as of July 1, he has officially been sworn in and is no longer just the interim. Here are some of the words citizens online had to say about his words and the news.

“That man is a blessing and a Hero God bless you and your family sir”

“To protect and serve From foreign and DOMESTIC THREATS..!!”

“Chief Barnes for President!!!”

“You are not just a public servant. You’re a public defender and a true American. God Bless!!!”

It appears that Washington residents have a man in office they can look up to and support, and hopefully, his tenure as police chief will be a long and successful one.
