The 4th of July is a time for fireworks, barbecues, and spending time with your loved ones. However, these Ohio teens decided to ruin the national holiday for all of the other families that showed up to Blue Ash, Ohio’s Red, White, and Boom fireworks show. However, one of the people attending the event would post a now-viral TikTok of what they thought was an active shooter situation. The surely terrifying moment shows just how chaotic a usually peaceful event can get in a matter of seconds. As well as how a simple joke can go way too far.

The TikTok shows Andrea Donovan and her family at the Blue Ash, Ohio fireworks show. However, things quickly got out of hand as large groups of other people began to completely clear the area, and they were moving fast. Andrea tells Local 12 that the mob of people was, in fact, screaming about a firearm. After recording for a few more moments, the video cuts off. However, according to the source, the family got to the bottom of what was really going on pretty quickly.

Andrea explains that after finding a law enforcement officer, the air was cleared. The officer confirmed that there were actually no “gunshots.” Apparently, a large group of Ohio teens had been lighting fireworks into crowds of people and screaming about someone having a weapon.

Blue Ash Police Department states that around 400 “unaccompanied juveniles” were arrested regarding the incident. The officer would also allegedly have to explain this to Andrea’s 5-year-old daughter as well, in order for her to remain calm. Police would also make a Facebook post stating that there were no shootings at the event, as many could not hear the officers in person.

The City states that there were 110 officers on duty that night. This is seemingly pretty normal for such a major event, especially on a national holiday. However, the department has also said they are continuing to gather information regarding the situation. However, for now, it remains unclear what kind of punishment the Ohio teens will face for their actions. Although social media users are not happy. “Is America great again yet?” one wrote.

Creating mass panic is not a proper way to celebrate anything. However, hopefully, these kids can learn their lesson this time. As for Andrea Donovan and her family, however. They appear to have put the situation behind them despite the growing popularity of the video.
