Not a good look, Mom

You expect to receive nothing but love and understanding from the people who’ve raised you. Unfortunately, this is not the experience that so many individuals experience every year. This is why subreddits like r/abusiveparents and r/raisedbynarcissists exist. Numerous people have stories to tell of their parents being hateful or risky. Now, a woman in New York is detailing her own personal story through TikTok videos, showing the rage she deals with from her mother on a daily basis.

Danixi (@madeunderpressa on TikTok) shared videos of her abusive relationship with her mother. In one particular video, she was berated for simply asking for her personal documents. The caption reads “approached her to ask for my social security, ID and child support documents which she hid from me for years.” Danixi then explains, “I’m 21 trying to find a place to stay and can’t even get my documents without being criticized and neglected.” Her mother is seen pulling a bag away, which is housing her personal documents.

In several other videos, Danixi shows the belittling she endures from her mother. Shw won’t even let her light a candle in her house and even carries a knife around in Danixi’s presence. Danixi’s also claims she put her hands on her, which “got her an order of protection on me.” Still, Danixi says she worries about her mother’s mental health. You would think that things would be the other way around and her own mother would start to care about her own daughter as well.

Commenters shared concern with Danixi and looked out for her well-being with some tips. One person suggested that Danixi “report everything stolen and get new documents.” She is an adult, after all, and has a right to those documents. Others suggested that there might be something sinister at play. One person said, “She’s either hiding something or she doesn’t wanna lose control over you” while another told Danixi to “check ur credit.” Many commenters agreed that her mom may have used her info for her own benefit or sold her SSN to a “relative,” which could lead to a whole host of issues and is obviously illegal.

No matter what Danixi finds out or chooses to do regarding her mom, this is a lesson to many that blood relatives will not always automatically care for you just because you’re blood. It’s also a lesson that you need to protect your peace, and yourself, at any cost. Sometimes ‘family’ is at the helm of all of your problems.
