A woman and “spicy content” model from Phoenix, Arizona, is out here to prove to people that love does move in mysterious ways after entering a committed, ethical non-monogamous relationship with her husband’s boyfriend. Well, technically ex-husband’s boyfriend, because the woman divorced her husband after their boyfriend informed her that the husband was cheating.
This odd relationship setup became the highlight of Love Don’t Judge’s latest episode. It’s a reality show that features some of the most unconventional relationships in the modern age. The woman in question is Arizona Rose from Phoenix, Arizona, and she met her current non-monogamous boyfriend, Gerald Bottoms, who, like her, is also a “spicy content creator.”
Gerald, as a bisexual met Arizona through a dating app where he agreed to enter a “throuple” relationship with her and her husband at the time, basically a relationship with three people. Things took a bad turn, however, when Gerald discovered that Arizona’s husband had an active profile on a dating app and promptly informed her. Apparently, Arizona didn’t know this activity from her husband, which meant that it counted as cheating since there was no transparency or consent.
So, Arizona divorced her husband, but then also decided to pursue a committed yet non-monogamous open relationship with Gerald, and they have been together for around six years. It appears, at the moment, however, the relationship is only “open” for Arizona, meaning Gerald has given her express consent to pursue sexual or romantic ties with other people, though Arizona doesn’t want Gerald to pursue the same with other women (but she’s working on it).
Live and Let Live?
While many people are still confused about the nature of their open relationship or the previous throuple relationship, fans are happy for Arizona, who has found what she was missing in her marriage. Others, however, are not so keen on the dynamics of the relationship.
Some of the harshest criticisms of the couple’s setup allude to how theoretically unhealthy it would be if children were involved, likely due to US laws favoring monogamous couples. Of course, there are also existing biases and taboos for something like this especially for people whore are used to traditional relationships either through their religious impositions or cultural upbringing.
In any case, it appears the couple is happy in their dynamics, given how it centers around full transparency and consent from either party. People are torn on the matter, however.
