TinyBuild, best known for creating indie games, has announced a new multiplayer survival FPS game called Outpost Zero. The Sci-Fi game, Outpost Zero, contains elements of survival and is described to be a ‘Starcraft as a multiplayer Survival FPS’.
Players build bases and gather resources as well as build an army of AI to help them defeat any neighbour’s base. At the start of the game, players play as an AI Overseer that is sent from Earth to establish a habitat on another planet that can be sustainable for human life.
A few similar games as Outpost Zero have been announced this year such as Surviving Mars, but this one seems to focus on the AI aspect as the robots can become part of a society under players command. The AI robots can be upgraded with new weapons and armour to protect the base and help players in combat. Players can also train their robots to combat among other things like crafting, resource harvesting, and jobs around the outpost. However, players also have to look after the robots by keeping morale high with luxurious quarters, entertaining them, and satisfying their needs.
The website states:
“At its core, Outpost Zero is a deep sandbox FPS. Fight against a variety of native alien creatures, and defend your base against roving bands of pirates and enemy raiders. Attack enemy strongholds to destroy their operations and loot their resources. The game will feature scaling combat with upgradeable weapons and armor, and group combat with AI squad mates to lead into battle against enemy bases.”
Outpost Zero is set to be released sometime this year and players that are eager to see the progress of this game can sign up for the alpha on their website.
