Being in a public setting alone can be a scary experience sometimes. However, for this Florida woman, scary would be an understatement. Florida native Lanae Marie had a truly horrifying experience while shopping alone. Although, thanks to a fellow shopper, tragedy could have been prevented. The woman would then record a TikTok where she recalls her situation to the app’s users. The video has begun to gain traction on the platform as her story reaches new people every day.
The TikTok begins with the Florida woman sitting inside her car, presumably outside of the store where the incident had just occurred. Lanae recalls that while shopping inside a store identified as a Walmart, she noticed a man begin to follow her throughout the aisles. After a few minutes, Lanae Marie would finally encounter another woman who was shopping alone. Once the two made eye contact, Lanae would allegedly mouth the words, “He’s following me.” Luckily, the other woman would then spring into action.
Florida Woman Has a Close Call Inside a Walmart
With some very quick thinking, the other woman would walk up to Lanae with a big hug, claiming to have “Not seen her in forever.” This seems to be a commonly used tactic in situations like these. The two women would then confront the strange man, asking him if he needed something from them. Lanae’s video would continue with her explaining that the man would then begin to yell at them for blocking the aisle. Although, unfortunately for everyone involved, this is not where the story ends.
The Florida woman then explains that she would go to the tech center to report to an employee what has been happening between her and this strange man. However, Lanae explains that as soon as she went to the tech center, the man was right on her heels again. He would even allegedly hang around while she was explaining everything to the worker. A group of Walmart employees would then walk the woman out to her vehicle. Police were also reportedly called to escort the man out of the establishment.
Lanae Marie’s TikTok continues to gain popularity on the social media platform. However, this Florida woman will surely be having “Nightmares for weeks,” as she would say in the video’s caption. Although this is a truly terrifying experience for anyone to go through, things could have been even worse. Who knows what could have happened if the other woman had never intervened?
