We Happy Few, the survival horror title from Compulsion Games, has been delayed yet again. In an update video released earlier today, the team at Compulsion detailed the reason why the game is being pushed back. As of right now, its release has been moved from April 2018 to summer of 2018.
In the video, Sam Abbott, Chief Operating Officer, and Laume Provost, Creative Director, explain the reasoning for the delay. After reviewing the game in its entirety, the team decided that the beginning hours of the game were lacking the “moments that are memorable, very funny, and super weird.” Therefore, the beginning of Arthur’s story is receiving a bit of a facelift. Abbott said, “the game didnโt start as well as it should. So we went back to the drawing board and made a couple of big decisions: we brought forward a number of story moments, to get into the action faster, and also rebuilt the whole first island for Arthur.” To make up for the delay, Compulsion released some new teaser footage and introduced another playable character: Sally.

Everyone is hooked on the drug “Joy,” which causes euphoria and blissful delusions in those who take it. ย Arthur, one of our main characters, stops taking the drug and begins to see the world for what it really is. ย According to the update, there will be three different narrative campaigns focused on Arthur, Sally, and another character that has yet to be announced.
