Dollar stores have typically been a useful and convenient place to shop at. However, for this Texas woman, her Dollar General shopping spree was cut short after she was locked inside the store. The Texas native would then whip out her phone to record a TikTok video describing the situation she had just gotten herself into. The video has since then officially hit viral status with over 10K likes, as some of the app’s users find this situation hilarious.
The TikTok begins with the Texas woman explaining that she was shopping at her local Dollar General when she had to use the restroom. However, while in the bathroom, the store’s power would go out completely. The woman then explained that by the time she was finished in the restroom, every worker and customer in the store was gone. Although that was just the beginning of our TikToker’s bad luck. To top it all off, the employees had locked the doors to the store after leaving.
Texas Woman Gets Locked Inside Her Local Dollar General After Power Outage
The woman then takes the viewer on a tour around the abandoned Dollar General. All the lights are off, and the store is as eerily empty as it was quiet. As the video’s poster explains further, she even attempts to open the door herself. However, her efforts were in vain. It is then that the woman drops what may be the biggest bombshell of the whole video. She explains that she has Verizon as her phone company, and they are currently experiencing outages in her town. This means, calling or texting for help was never even an option. However, despite the situation at hand, some viewers found everything very funny. “You live there now,” joked one in TikTok’s comment section.
The Texas woman then takes another lap around the dark store, calling out for help, despite her knowing she is alone. Finally, she pans her phone’s camera around the Dollar General, and states there is “not a single soul” with her. She then has a theory as to why the store’s security alarm isn’t going off. With the power being out, it seems unlikely that the alarm would still work. After some time inside the locked store, the woman would begin to organize the shelves out of pure boredom.
As the video ends, the Texas woman can be seen sitting by the self-checkout aisles with her purse. After organizing some of the store’s purchasable artwork, among other things, it seems as though the woman was beyond bored at that point. Before the video cuts off, she can be heard saying, “Alright, looks like I’m spending the night.” It is unclear whether or not the woman has been freed from the Dollar General, but one can only hope she didn’t spend too much time locked in there
