Machine Gun Kelly’s daughter, Casie, got the birthday gift every 16-year-old girl asks for: a new car. She might not have her license yet, but she’s about to be rolling around Cleveland, Ohio, in a brand-new Acura. The touching moment was caught on video, showing Casie elated and jumping into her dad’s arms after the reveal.
You can see the black Acura TLX in the back of the video, complete with a giant red bow on the hood and red interior trim. Casie got her dream car, but it came with one rule from her dad. “What’s the number one rule?” MGK can be heard asking. In response, Casie answers, “Don’t drive like your dad.” MGK confirms, saying, “Exactly,” before the two pose for a picture.
The irony is that MGK doesn’t have his license, and jokes that Casie may get one before he ever does. The artist has joked in the past that not passing your driver’s test “runs in the family.” Fans of MGK were encouraging, with user EmJayFree saying, “An Acura is a nice middle ground between fancy and reliable.” User letthetreeburn agreed, saying, “
Itโs proof you love your kid to give them something thatโll protect them.”
Other users on Reddit made remarks about the practicality of the car itself. Rather than buying Casie a flashy sports car, CityBoiNC praised MGK for his subtle choice. “I’m pretty happy to see her this hyped over an Acura and not some dumb supercar,” they said. Reddit user ankhes also praised MGK as a dad, commenting, “Iโll probably never like him as a person, but I can respect him for being a decent dad who has a good relationship with his kids. Thatโs sadly not always a given with many parents.”
MGK himself seemed unsure of his daughter’s choice, though. “I don’t know why this is her dream car, but it’s her dream car, it’s crazy,” he says with a laugh at the end of the video.
