School is back in session, but that doesn’t mean summer distractions are gone! A kindergarten teacher in Nashville, Tennessee, knows this all too well. Ashley York recently took to her TikTok to share an embarrassing moment with viewers. She went into her August 2025 parent-teacher orientation with the best intentions, well-prepared and ready to hand out her Amazon Wishlist. She even took the time to laminate colorful cards with QR codes. All a parent had to do was scan their code to purchase something for their child’s classroom. Yet when they started doing so, they got a big surprise.
Instead of being taken to a typical list full of school supplies, they found themselves directed to a music video. Ashley, who goes by @ashleyyorkk on her Nashville-based TikTok channel, explained the blunder this way: “I put them on all the tables. The parents go to scan them. Does it bring up my Amazon Wishlist? No. Does it bring up Hello – the music video by Adele? Yes. How embarrassing! One every single one!”
Although Ashley calls her mistake a “major teacher fail” and clearly blushes when she shares it, viewers were quick to jump in with support. One commenter stated, “This would have been such a green flag for me if I were one of the parents.” Another even joked, “Next year, make sure it’s a Rick Roll.” Most of her viewers were simply relieved for the Nashville teacher, and pointed out the “oopsie” could have been much worse. Ashley agreed with those sentiments.
Fingers crossed some of these commenters can help the gal out with QR card instructions before her next parent-teacher event! Hopefully, this teacher still gets everything she needs for her Tennessee students this year! Adele, if you happen to be reading this from the other side…you know what to do!
