It doesn’t matter how bad someone needs to go; sneaking into another person’s house to use the toilet is unacceptable. That’s what one New Jersey tenant’s landlord would say–if he were a normal man with common decency and the least bit of self-respect. Things took a smelly and very creepy turn when the tenant came home, only to find the landlord inside their bathroom using the toilet.
After being discovered and “leaving the bathroom smelling like a*s…with marks on the toilet,” the New Jersey landlord, whose name is Billy, had the audacity to tell the tenant that he has “full access to the apartment at all times” and might even “sometimes” go into their home without permission. He then told the renter that their home was a mess and complained about their bathroom’s toilet paper holder being broken, threatening to take money out of the security deposit if they didn’t “take better care next time.” Finally, to make sure no one else knows about how excessively creepy he is, Billy promised to cut the rent by 50% for the month so they’d “keep quiet.” “This is a 1-time deal,” he wrote in a text.

And if all this wasn’t enough, the landlord wrote his entire message as if he were a teenager or a young, immature adult with little formalities, ending his text with “Thanx…enjoy your day 🤗.” “[It’s a] brilliant confession in writing by an adolescent landlord,” remarked a commenter on Reddit. “Billy is a certified moron. Who the f*ck texts their tenant like that? Is he 16?” another asked in disbelief. The thing is, this cheeky apartment owner isn’t some young boy; he’s in his 60s.
Childish messaging aside, “your landlord has no right to enter your apartment unless scheduled maintenance or emergency,” states a highly upvoted comment. And while some people claim that he might have snuck into the tenant’s bathroom due to a ‘Number 2 emergency,’ he clearly texted them in a way that he “regularly enters people’s dwellings without their knowledge, and he fully intends to continue doing so.” And for that, he’s 100% a creep in my book, and hundreds of Redditors seem to think so as well.
“The guy sounds like a weirdo who doesn’t understand how severe his behavior is,” says one commenter. “He sounds like a panty sniffer. He’s doing something he knows he shouldn’t or why the bribery attempt?” adds a second. “This is not legal in any state. Then he threatens you? Nope. Time to report him and/or move.” And I think anyone with common sense would have to agree. A landlord who sneaks into renters’ apartments without permission, then threatens and bribes after getting caught, is not someone I’d want to pay any money to. In fact, Billy should be reported to the police and might find himself behind bars if he keeps this up.
