Every now and then you need a peaceful day to yourself—no obligations, no chores, just vegetable state. Some of you might go out and get your nails done. But what if that otherwise relaxing time was suddenly ruined? This is what happened to a woman getting a pedicure at a nail salon in Colorado. She managed to capture footage a woman trashing the nail salon and arguing with employees, in typical Karen fashion.
TikTok user Lidiagarcia846 captioned her video, “I just wanted to relax but what the helly?” You suddenly see a female customer walking around the Luxury Nails Art salon and throwing over equipment and carts full of bottles and tools. At the same time, she’s shouting and the employees. Through the belligerant screeching, you can hear her say “Ya’ll let her f**k up my nails.” She accuses one of the nail artists of breaking all her nails and accusing an assistant of “watching” her do it.
The Karen then tells the workers to “Hurry up and call the police.” Everybody stands, just watching the angry Karen until she goes over to a bunch of nail polish bottles and throws them from their tray and onto the floor. As she’s finally exiting the store, she tells a worker, “They told me to come back tomorrow. So this is what you get,” she says as she points around the room at the mess she made.
After the video was posted, Lidia says the Karen left in her vehicle and police arrived. They were allegedly unable to find her. Apparently, this wasn’t the first time they dealt with her attitude, according to the owner. Therefore, she didn’t want to provide service to her, which is their right when a customer is acting unruly.
“Nothing justifies her behavior, and I’m thankful the workers handled it the right way by focusing on keeping everyone calm and getting her to leave without making it worse,” said one commenter. Another person said, “Some adults need to learn to regulate their emotions and learn to communicate using their words.” You see the same commenters, over and over.
Suffice to say, this customer was embodying the spirit of Karen. And maybe it was just a misunderstanding. Either way, if your frustration is that balled up you trash a business, you might need to examine the stress in your life.
