Edward Coristine, better known on the internet as ‘Big Balls’ has posted a video of himself benching 225 pounds after having been the victim of a brutal carjacking recently. The carjacking itself took place in Washington DC, and involved nearly ten juveniles attacking the former Department of Government Efficiency employee. Both President Donald Trump and Tesla CEO Elon Musk were vocal about the incident when it originally happened, sharing images of a bloodied and beaten Coristine after the attack.
Edward Coristine is a programmer who is best known for having joined the Trump Administration under Elon Musk within DOGE. Concerning his nickname, he allegedly received it during a math class in high school and has continued to use it throughout his professional career, even going so far as to put it on his LinkedIn profile. However, that doesn’t really justify nearly ten individuals carjacking him and essentially leaving him for dead. Coristine suffered a concussion, a black eye, and various other injuries from the incident.
Two of the suspects, who are minors, were captured and stood before a judge for their verdicts. One suspect was placed on house arrest while another was transferred to a youth shelter. Now that some time has passed since the incident, Coristine posted a video of himself benching 225 pounds, showing others that he is recovering well. Commenters quickly jumped into the replies to praise Coristine for his efforts, especially in being able to lift so much, with one person saying, “Is that a legit 225?”
Realistically, 225 pounds is an incredible feat. Considering the effort Coristine displays in the video, it is also safe to say that it isn’t AI and that he really is recovering incredibly well from his injuries.
While Edward Coristine’s incident might have been the one that sparked Trump’s criticism of crime rates, that doesn’t really justify having National Guard troops casually walking around with weapons. Hopefully, a more sustainable and safe method of protecting citizens will be created to avoid situations such as carjackings from happening. However, something tells me that Republicans and those with power will be the only ones really reaping these safety benefits.
