When a job pays, it’s sometimes best not to ask questions. And one Uber Eats driver doing a night order in New York realized after accepting it that he was likely not delivering food. “99.9% sure I delivered drugs,” he says in a post on r/UberEatsDrivers. The package was a reused paper gift bag sealed with hot glue and felt practically weightless. He also recalled the contents inside felt like they were “wrapped in plastic.” If all this wasn’t a dead giveaway enough, the sender and recipient were more than proof for the driver.

“I was told not to judge people on how they look, but I know a meth user when I see one,” he said with strong suspicions. Apparently, both customers had similar characteristics of having damaged teeth, with multiple scabs on their bodies and faces. Sores can form as a result of meth use, not to mention that he claims the women who received the package “straight up looked high asf.” Fortunately, this shady delivery was well worth the time and effort, as he made a total of $100 from the order. Almost $80 for the trip, with a $20 tip.

Questionable Deliveries Are Nothing New for Uber Eats Drivers, Allegedly

“Plausible deniability don’t ask don’t care just do the job,” remarked the top-upvoted commenter. One person pointed out that he probably looked in the bag to know it was drugs, but the Uber Eats driver denied, though, he said he was quite tempted. “I was this close👌🏾lol but nah they would’ve found out by the way they had it sealed up,” referring to how the bag was closed shut with hot glue. It’s probably for the best, too, since if the authorities caught wind of his knowledge of the delivery’s contents, that might have been troublesome.

Allegedly, this sort of suspicious order was nothing new for the Uber Eats deliveryman, as he claims to have delivered all sorts of stuff. “I’ve delivered keys, purses, suitcases, documents, diabetes monitor all kinds of sh*t and now drugs lol.” And apparently, it’s not an uncommon thing, as multiple Reddit users in the comment section claim to have transported “questionable packages” as well. Ethics aside, times are tough, and as one commenter says: “A deals a deal, i deliver thats all.”
