A young woman in Australia has finally recovered her lost iPad after a two-year search. This unexpected recovery, all the way from Columbus, Ohio, is probably the most shocking one yet. In a post on Reddit, the woman shared that she had lost her expensive iPad two years ago. The post included a map that showed the device’s location.
Her caption provided more context, explaining that she didn’t know how to recover her iPad. It felt like a big deal because the iPad contained her personal photos and 2D animations. She discovered the location after receiving an email that notified her someone had attempted to access the device. She added that she sent a message, but no one had responded.
Without hesitation, she asked the Reddit community for advice on what steps to take. “I’m wondering if anyone has any advice- If it wouldn’t be ridiculous to let the police know and if they would have any way of sending it back to me,” she wrote.
Not long after, she shared an update in the comments with excitement. “An employee (@kyleetheshinystealer) saw this post because apparently it’s a used electronics shop, and I’ve sent them my serial number, which they in turn have sent through to their boss, so my fingers are crossed that they will find it, and hopefully we can sort something out that it can get posted and make it’s way back home!!!! Feels very finding Nemo to me right now 🐠🐻🥹❤️.”
And then, the miracle eventually happened. In another video she posted on Reddit, she joyfully unboxed her iPad after it was returned to her from Columbus. The package contained not just her iPad but also a backpack, with a note inside that read, “From Ecycle.”
Although she gave a heads-up that the iPad was cracked before finally unboxing it, the joy on her face was unmistakable when she finally saw her white iPad. As she held it up, she screamed in disbelief. After two long years, it was finally hers again. The clip ended with two photos: one of her holding the iPad tagged “reunited” and another with her new backpack, thanking Ecycle for the unexpected gesture.
