These days, it seems that encountering racists has become an increasingly common and unfortunate reality. Most of the time, these unpleasant individuals resort to shouting, spreading hateful words, or simply being generally mean. But sometimes, things escalate into physical violence. For one African American teen in Wisconsin, he experienced one of the worst days of his life when a group of several teenage boys physically attacked him. The 14-year-old was reportedly targeted by these teens who attempted to shove him into a piece of farm equipment, specifically a MacDon FD135 combine harvester header used for cutting crops.
Thankfully, the teen fought back with all his strength, and the attackers were unable to force him into the massive machinery. In a short video clip that later circulated online, you can see him being pushed toward the intimidating metal equipment while desperately defending himself. Meanwhile, the group of teens repeatedly shouted racial slurs at him, including the n-word. Though the fight eventually moved away from the farm equipment, the black teen continued to be pummeled by multiple attackers. Fortunately, other people nearby eventually intervened to try and stop the assault.
A Wisconsin sheriff responded to the scene, but by the time law enforcement arrived, everyone involved had already left. This, however, did not stop the investigation. Authorities began working to identify those responsible and understand the motives behind this horrifying attack. Reports indicate that the group of white teens allegedly targeted the African American teen because they mistakenly thought he was someone else.
Regardless of the reasoning, many people have found the actions of the attackers completely unacceptable. “This is absolutely horrendous and disgusting. What kind of people raised these degenerates? The poor kid is going to have a lifetime of trauma. What a bunch of… well, you already know,” one user commented.
Other observers criticized how long it took for Wisconsin police to gather information and apprehend the suspects. Some even speculated that one of the attackers might have connections to local law enforcement, asking, “Is this another Simi Valley situation where the white kids are connected to local officers?” Many argued that this incident should be treated as a hate crime, with the suspects facing adult charges rather than being treated as minors in court.
Others called out the teens who were present but did nothing to intervene. “All those who stood by and watched should be named, shamed, and held accountable. The mob of white teens that assaulted this teen need to be charged under enhanced hate crime laws and tried as adults,” one social media user wrote.
