A scary and dramatic scene recently played out in Eugene, Oregon, and it was all caught on camera. In a public parking lot, a dispute occurred that left tensions high and even turned out to be a bit dangerous. One local woman caught the incident and uploaded the footage to social media, where the internet got to witness the wild exchange and share their various opinions about the bizarre scene, which featured a man in a wheelchair blocking a frazzled-looking woman from backing out of her parking space.
In the TikTok video, a man in a wheelchair wearing a yellow shirt and a baseball cap has his chair placed directly behind a woman’s car in the parking lot as she’s trying to back out of her space. He has another woman standing next to them as he yells out for someone in the parking lot to call the police.
Meanwhile, the woman in the car tries to back up and nearly hits the wheelchair-bound man as she yells for her to get out of her car. Behind the wheel, the Oregon driver desperately begs for the man to move so that she can exit the parking space and leave the facility. However, he refuses.
Oregon Woman Nearly Runs Over Man In Wheelchair During Hit-and-Run Attempt
It seems odd at first watch, as it’s unclear whether or not that man is holding the woman hostage in the parking spot out of spite. However, the person who posted the video eventually jumped into the comment section to offer some context about what really went down in the parking lot.
She revealed that the woman in the car had hit the couple’s vehicle and refused to give out her insurance information. She was trying to leave the scene before the police could come. However, the couple refused to let her go and stood in her path as a way to seek justice.
“Lowkey all of them were crazy but I had to talk this girl down. She was really freaking out because she was scared of her dad being mad at her. The damage on their van was just the plastic bumper part, and she offered to give them cash, but they wouldnโt take it. It was actually really sad.” the original poster explained.
Those on TikTok didn’t hesitate to share their thoughts on the situation. “You canโt prevent somebody from leaving; they shouldโve taken down her info and called the police,” one person said. “I donโt blame them. Somebody hit my car at Chiliโs and drove off. People really donโt have any common decency anymore, itโs sad,” another wrote.
The encounter obviously got heated. However, if the woman in the car did try to leave after hitting another vehicle, she should’ve owned up to her mistake and dealt with the consequences. Sadly, the couple could have likely also handled the situation better.
