TikTok user Pearlmania500 was fired up when he posted his rant about Pennsylvania’s poor subway system. Recently, FanDuel partnered with SEPTA (Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority) to sponsor the Philadelphia Eagles home opener. Essentially, FanDuel would sponsor the subway so fans had transportation for free. How generous!
Now, while this is good news for Eagles fans, TikTok user Pearlmania500 wanted to highlight the real problem: “Our state budget’s been tied up due to one guy. His name is Joe f***ing Pittman,” who is a Republican state senator of PA. “He’s got a little assistant from northeast Philly named Joe Picozzi.”
“Those two idiots have been not showing up for work for six f***ing months,” said Pearlmania500. According to him, the bickering off PA’s budget has thrown a wrench into public transportation. Without transportation funding legislation, the subway system comes to a standstill. And as a result, they were telling people to not even bother coming to the Eagles game. No carpooling, no tailgating.
So, how much are we talking here? A million dollars? Two million? Is it billions of dollars that was standing between Eagles fans and a monumental home game? No, it was $100,000—one-tenth of a million. FanDuel footed the bill for a single day, and it only cost $100,000. For reference, Senator Joe Pittman raised $4.5 million when he ran for public office.
This passionate Eagles fan felt it was part of an even bigger problem. “But when it comes to going to work, when it comes to getting to the hospital, when it comes to just fing trying to exist, go to the grocery store—f your transportation,” he says. He blames both Senator Joe Pittman and Joe Picozzi for the poor state of transportation. Rather than fund the subway, they collect paychecks.
“F**k those two joes. PA, you got to vote those f***ers out,” said one commenter, beautifully summing up Pearlmania500’s point. Once again, we’re shown the crooked nature of Republicans and the sad, sorry state public transportation is in America.
