While Meghan Markle sinks deeper into her business endeavors in the US, Prince Harry longs to return home, mend his relationships with the Royal Family, and possibly get his reputation back. Yet, it doesn’t look like she’s on board with returning to the life of royalty, even part-time, as she’s so lost in the sauce that she’s convinced Taylor Swift is out to get her. Still, Harry is confident that he will make things work and is allegedly willing to strike a deal with King Charles: Giving Meghan her “Her Royal Highness” title back in exchange for forgiveness!
Harry is said to be willing to forgive everything, letting bygones be bygones, even the demand for a public apology if Meghan gets to be called HRH again. This is very ironic, seeing how the Duchess of Sussex cares very little about royal customs or protocol and instead actually criticizes them. The most notable instance is Meghan Markle’s refusal to curtsy to Queen Elizabeth on her wedding day, which many consider extremely disrespectful. Let’s not forget that she also never correctly curtsied to Kate Middleton, a mistake that was reportedly done intentionally.
Even in her recent interview with Bloomberg, journalist Neil Sean points out how Meghan just can’t seem to stop mocking the things British royalty are expected to do. She even picked on her own title, Meghan, Duchess of Sussex. But Sean claims that even though his wife acts like she doesn’t care about titles in public, in private, it’s allegedly very important to her. Apparently, she’s been using her title when she’s speaking with friends or interacting with promotion companies via Netflix. That’s why Henry sees the HRH titles as now holding a lot of significance, even to the point he’s willing to forgive King Charles for everything that’s happened between them.
Of course, no one believes Charles will do anything of the sort, as that would go directly against the late Queen’s wishes. She had Harry and Meghan give up their royal titles when they chose to cut their ties and move to the States. “If King Charles caves to any of their demand, he will find that the people will lose all respect for him!” remarks a commenter. “I also think it could be the downfall of the monarchy!” Another agrees, saying that “It would be such a betrayal if Charles returns this title. It would also destroy Charles’ relationship with the one son he has who is actually supporting The Crown.”
But as one online user puts it, holding the HRH titles isn’t the main issue here for the Sussexes. Harry and Meghan are loathed so much all over the world, so “Nothing, I repeat nothing, can win the nasty duo favor,” not even a royal title.
