The most devastating effect of Americaโs recent ICE raids is the impact it has on families. With the threat of permanent separation happening, as well as the psychological impact it has, the outcome is catastrophic for so many. But a woman in Washington is now showing us how ICE raids effect America on a deeper level. By taking away essential workers at a power plant in America, ICE is crippling energy production for everyone else.
In Georgia, a recent ICE raid at a Hyundai-LG battery plant has led to complete devastation and turmoil. The President-backed raid led to 475 people being arrested and literally shackled as they were loaded onto prison buses. Most of the men and women were from South Korea. As one TikToker explained, ICE raids can have huge impacts on all of America when workers are removed from their positions.
TikTok user The_phish22, explained she has a husband who works as an electrician in Washington. She told him she was concerned about the fact South Korean workers were taken from this Georgia plant by ICE. He told her โHyundai has billions of dollars of contractsโ and that the workers who were arrested were here on work visas. And the real kicker? They were brought here for specialized work from South Korea because they were allegedly training American workers.
Her husband went on to say Hyundai makes a big portion of the giant electrical transformers in major American cities. As Phish goes on to say, โThere are only a couple countries in this world that make them and America isnโt one of them.โ Now, she and her husband worry South Korea will be incredibly upset with America due to the arrests.
โTrump has been paid to destroy America,โ one commenter argued. โTrump and his ego have alienated the majority of the countries in the world. Everyone hates us now,โ said another. Both can be true, but the latter is far easier to prove. Either way, these ICE raids continue to have a negative impact on America. Now we have to worry about electricity all because the Trump administration is chasing made-up boogeymen?
