In a short video that spread across TikTok and Reddit, the Idaho boy is seen clinging to his father, already on the verge of tears. The clip starts midway through a conversation where a woman, holding the camera, is talking about which public figures are real and which are not. Then comes the moment. The boy, with the kind of raw innocence only a child can have, blurts out the big question: “Is Donald Trump a real person?” Without hesitation, the woman replies matter of factly, “Yes, Donald Trump is a real person.”
That confirmation was enough to break him. The boy instantly bursts into tears, unable to process the idea that the president was not only real but alive and well. The adults in the room cannot help themselves; they laugh at his sobbing reaction. And honestly, who could blame the boy? To suddenly discover that the “big orange man” you might have assumed was a cartoonish bogeyman is, in fact, flesh and blood is a lot for a kid to handle.
