A late-night scuffle at a Georgia Waffle House erupted into chaos early on Sunday morning when staff members and a group of teenagers clashed in a violent altercation that was captured by a security camera and multiple cell phones. The footage from the chaotic brawl is now circulating online.
In the 57-second video recorded by the on-site security surveillance system, you can clearly see two Waffle House employees hurling plates at a group of teenagers who’ve conjugated near the counter. Several youths then jump over the counter and begin their violent assault on an employee. A female colleague can be seen rushing in to help pull the assailants off the staff member, but the scuffle continues.
Another man enters the frame — who is reportedly another customer — and he tries to split up the brawl between the employee and patrons, and thankfully his efforts are successful. You can see a shocked mother and daughter holding each other as they hurry towards the exit, along with many other customers. One of the teenage assailants picks up his cap from the floor and walks away, which ends the clip.
Social Media Reactions to the Violent Waffle House Brawl
Due to the viral nature of the footage that’s circulating online, plenty of comments came flooding in from social media. Over on Instagram, one netizen joked, “First question on a Waffle House application: Can you fight?” while another commenter called for accountability from the teen’s parents, writing, “Sue their parents. Arrest them.” Meanwhile, over on X, more comments came pouring in criticising the teens’ upbringing with one declaring, “Serious charges needed, felony assault as adults Some kids going to jail and will lose their chance for college scholarships and many other things (like having a gun)“
According to a report from Fox5, Cobb County police officers are currently investigating the fight, which broke out early Sunday at the Waffle House on Sandy Plains Road. One of the victims was reportedly placed in a headlock and struck multiple times in the head, according to investigators. In addition, several customers attempted to intervene and help defuse the situation before police arrived. Waffle House is yet to issue an official statement on the incident.
