There is definitely a lot to be said about the current state of political affairs in North America. In fact, tensions have only risen higher as of late, considering President Donald Trump’s take on various societal issues. Unfortunately, one of the most focused issues as of late has been the topic of ‘illegal aliens’ and deportation. During a council meeting in Whittier, California, those tensions were vocalized further by an unhinged member of the audience. Despite being given an audience of councilmen as he spoke, it was very clear that his words were falling on deaf ears.
The above video features members of the city council in Whittier, California, as they discuss various topics concerning the city. At one point, an unknown man takes his place at the microphone and begins going on about illegal immigrants and the criminal activity they supposedly bring with them. Moments after he begins speaking, you can see the councilmen face one another and ask to go on a break. Unfortunately, the pleas also fell on deaf ears as the man used this opportunity to instead keep speaking his mind.
As the man speaks, you can hear him slurring his words and making very little sense when explaining his examples or reasoning. It is unclear if he was intoxicated or under the influence at the time of the council meeting. While making his closing arguments, you can hear various other attendees yelling angrily, hoping to have him removed from the microphone. Honestly, I think he was able to speak for far longer than he should have been allowed to. Various commenters under the above video felt the same, with one of the top comments reading, “Hope that idiot gets outed.”
Instead of being removed from the facility for disturbing the event, he was asked to leave and make way for another speaker. This informative style of speech has become rampant lately, with misinformation being spread like wildfire on the basis that all immigrants should be treated as criminals. Hopefully, we won’t be hearing any more of this man’s rants in future council meetings.
