A former DoorDash driver in Illinois shared a TikTok video saying she lost her main source of income after a doctor’s office falsely reported that an order she delivered never showed up. In the clip, the upset woman confronted the receptionist and another staff member, asking to speak to the person who made the complaint.
She told them that she had personally dropped off the order, but someone inside the office marked it as undelivered. “I just got restricted from my DoorDash account because somebody said that I did not deliver their food here,” she said to the staff. “She [the receptionist] specifically came and got this food from me. So now what? I don’t have a job. I have a one-year-old in my car.” The driver added that she is five months pregnant and relies on DoorDash to pay her bills and care for her child.
The receptionist later quietly admitted that the food had been received, while another employee said the person who ordered it was already on the phone trying to fix the mistake. But the driver said that DoorDash restrictions don’t simply disappear, and she feared she was already out of work. “Restrictions don’t get removed off of DoorDash accounts. So now I’m just out of a job because of a liar, right?” she asked.
Although the staff member maintained that the order recipient was “taking care of it,” the driver argued that a simple mistake shouldn’t cost someone their livelihood. “A mistake? You don’t mistakenly do that,” she said, noting that she might not be able to get her account reactivated. The staff eventually asked her to leave for being unruly, but she promised to follow up, saying, “Best believe I’ll be back.”
What People Are Saying About the Illinois DoorDash Incident
The video struck a nerve online. Many viewers were outraged by how she was treated and encouraged her to take action. “Girl that’s fraud! Call the police and press charges!” one person urged. Another wrote, “They’re straight up playing. If her food was delivered she should’ve went to the front to retrieve it… what did she expect? For you to bring it to the back to her? I’m so sorry.”
A lot of people in the comments section also criticized the office staff. “That lady’s face just irks me off, why is she annoyed? She’s not the one who just lost her job,” a commenter said. Someone else added, “They all in on it 🙄.” Others suggested that DoorDash improve its policies. “This is why DoorDash needs to have each person confirm order received with a code,” one netizen said. Another tagged the company and wrote, “@DoorDash you have to fix this.”
