A couple in Minnesota got a big surprise when they were out for a drive and decided to slow down to drop off some trash from their car. The weather was nice and the driver opted to roll down his window and see if he could mimic an NBA shot by tossing an empty plastic bottle into a nearby dumpster. Instead, what he found was something out of the ordinary and had the internet both laughing and crying.
In a video posted to the Minnesota man’s TikTok account, it’s clear to see that he and his passenger are driving slowly when he throws the empty bottle toward a nearby dumpster. The bottle didn’t make it inside, and as soon as it clanked off the side due to the bad shot, a person quickly poked their head out in surprise.
“Oh. Sorry. I didn’t know you were in there,” the man driving stated as he grabbed another piece of garbage, but placed it back in his vehicle before throwing it at the dumpster. The person inside the dumpster appeared to laugh off the incident, and the internet quickly began to debate what was happening.
Minnesota Man Throws Finds Person Inside Dumpster While Throwing Trash Away
Many believed that the person in the dumpster either lived in there or was looking for food. Sadly, homelessness is a serious issue in the country. Instead of offering the person help, the couple laughed about the situation, drove off, and didn’t even pick up the trash that they left laying on the ground.
TikTok had plenty of jokes about the video. One person asked the person who posted the video how they would feel if someone threw trash at their house. He responded, “Unlike this person I do not live in a dumpster…. where people throw trash away.” Others stated that they hoped the man didn’t know a person was in the dumpster before attempting to throw the bottle inside. “Same energy as walking in on someone in the bathroom,” another joked.
A debate then ensued about whether or not the man knew there was a person in the dumpster. Some claimed that he was filming because he knew beforehand the person would pop their head out of the garbage container. Others said that it was likely he was just filming himself trying to sink a shot into the dumpster. It’s hard to tell, but one thing is for sure, it was a sad situation to see.
The Minnesota dumpster video got over 2 million views on TikTok, and everyone seemed to have an opinion. Meanwhile, many were just hopeful that the person inside the dumpster found some help following the incident.
