Dying Light: The Beast brings back that iconic and highly enjoyable environmental storytelling, but pushes it a bit further by making some investigations a bit harder to crack. One of the first you’ll likely find during your parkour escapades is the one that involves a locked safe inside the orange hotel in Dying Light: The Beast. Below is the solution to this unmarked quest, as well as the rewards you can obtain by opening this safe.
Orange Hotel Safe Investigation Solution for Dying Light: The Beast
Before even attempting to start this unmarked side activity, you need to locate the hotel. It is the northern part of Old Town, near the Library Tower safe zone and near the tunnels that are part of the main story. You’ll be able to find it quickly by looking at the “Hotel” sign at the side of the building.

If you have located the hotel, enter it through any of its windows and find the room that is closest to the windows overlooking the street. Inside, you’ll find a safe and an investigation note that can be marked via your Survivor Instinct.

The note mentions how one of the people inside the room went to the Nathe’s supermarket, which is near the hotel. Since the supermarket is a dark zone, you’ll quickly find it on your map. Head toward it and you’ll locate a new note near the entrance. One important thing about this unmarked quest is that you don’t need to enter the dark zone to complete it, as the note outside of it has all the clues.

The note will say that the person wanted to remember their codes and work on their ADHD by finding a new method to remember things, and they mention “Pencils, Books, Television.” Many might think the solution is inside the Dark Zone, but that’s not the case.
Instead of entering the building, return to the hotel and pay attention to the pencils, books, and televisions inside the room, as the number of these items is the code.

You’ll notice how there are seven pencils, six books, and one television, thus making the code “761.” With that in mind, return to the safe to open it and claim a legendary healing item and a legendary item you can sell.

Since this is an unmarked quest of sorts, you won’t be able to track, and you won’t get any experience from it. However, the two legendary rewards are worth it. Also, following it is a good excuse to delve into a Dark Zone for some gear and rare materials.
